Dr. Nicolee Theiss
Nicholee Theiss, MD, family medicine physician at South Pointe Medical Center, and affiliated with Good Samaritan Medical Center, has been named a 2016 Top Doctor in Lafayette, Colorado. Top Doctor Awards is dedicated to selecting and honoring those healthcare practitioners who have demonstrated clinical excellence while delivering the highest standards of patient care.
Dr. Nicholee Theiss has been in practice for more than 14 years, and in that time she has already gained a reputation as one of Colorado’s foremost family medicine physicians. Her medical career commenced in 2002, when she graduated from the University of Wisconsin Medical School. She remained at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics for an internship and then residency, where she was elected chief resident in the Department of Family Medicine. After completion of her residency in 2005, Dr. Theiss entered private practice, initially in Arizona, and subsequently in Colorado since 2008.
Dr. Theiss is board certified in Family Medicine, and therefore treats a very wide range of acute and chronic conditions for patients of all ages. These range from asthma, anxiety and depression disorders, allergies, and infections, to diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, skin disorders, and menopausal conditions. Dr. Theiss also enjoys the spectrum of pediatrics, aesthetics, nutrition therapy, health screening programs, and lifestyle counseling to help her patients make healthier life choices. As a long distance runner, she has keen interest in endurance athletes and sports injuries as well.
Unlike other physicians who specialize in treating one particular organ or disease, family physicians are uniquely trained to care for you as a whole person, regardless of your age or sex. If a health condition arises that requires care from another specialist, Dr. Nicholee Theiss will be there to guide you and to coordinate all aspects of your care. Furthermore, Dr. Theiss has attained additional certification in aesthetics.
Dr. Theiss says that the secret of her success is the collaborative approach she takes with her patients. This means treating them with respect and dignity at the same time as educating them about their health and conditions, and encouraging them to take an active role in the management of their own health. She believes in working together to achieve the best possible outcome in the most cost-effective manner. This laudable attitude makes Dr. Nicholee Theiss a very deserving winner of a 2016 Top Doctor Award.
